“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” I John 5:4-5

Overcome the World and Sin

I love places like this valley in Wyoming. It is a beautiful place to find a little bit of peace in our world. 

Sadly, most of the world is not as peaceful. Sin fills the world and controls the hearts of people. The corruption of sin reigns everywhere. We can even find it in our own hearts. How can we escape the grip of sin?

Praise God! The book of 1 John chapter 5 gives us the answer. It tells us that those who are “born of God” have overcome the world. When we believe that Jesus is the son of God we are born of God. And it’s through Jesus Christ we overcome the power of sin and death! Amen!
