God Cares for the Just and the Unjust

God loves His people and takes care of their needs. But compassion and mercy are so much a part of God’s character that He provides for even those who reject Him. He gives His goodness to all people. His rain falls on the just and the unjust.

As an infinite God He finds it easy to love those who hate Him. It’s part of His nature to do so, but in the context of this verse Jesus calls us to love our enemies too. That’s impossible for us to do outside of God’s help, but with Him we can and need to do so.

Dear Lord, help me to love those who oppose me and who oppose You. And help me to stand for truth at the same time, just as Jesus did.
