1 Chronicles 29:11 and The Peak of Estes Cone, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.” 1 Chronicles 29:11
God’s Greatness Revealed in His Power and Love
Throughout Scripture the Bible declares to us the power of God through descriptions of Him, statements about His work and through words of praise.
God’s Word also illustrates His power to us through story. In a myriad of Bible stories we read how God parted mighted waters, calmed stormy seas, crushed powerful armies, poured out His wrath on wicked cities and that He created the animals, the mountains, the oceans, the stars and everything else.
Nothing in creation compares to God’s power. He rules over everything and it all belongs to Him.
Perhaps God’s greatest act of power is restraining it. He does this towards us. Because of our sin He can justly choose to crush us, but instead He offers us love and forgiveness. Amazing!
