Blog: Seek Everlasting Glory

Fading Beauty and Glory

The glory of leaves quickly fades. All other glories of this world has to offer will also fade away. So why do people pursue them?

Where did they go? I don’t see them anymore. Not long ago it seemed everyone couldn’t help but admire their beauty, but now that beauty can no longer be found. All that remains are a bunch of shifting piles of dried brown leaves hopelessly drifting with the direction of the wind.

What do we make of this glory we beheld in our eyes and has now passed away? Sadly, the beauty of fall has left us and the cold of winter has come.

But what if the trees never lost their leaves and those brilliant colors remained forever? What if we could hold on to the glory of autumn? Wouldn’t that be sweet? Imagine a world dancing with eye pleasing beauty and everlasting glory.

After the glory of fall comes the cold of winter. Just the same, the glories of earthly pleasures will eventual leave us empty and cold.

Seek Everlasting Glory

Unfortunately we cannot hold on to the glory of autumn nor can we cannot hold on to the glories of this world. The alluring materialist glitter of fame, fortune, fashion, good looks and other worldly pleasure do not last forever. Sadly, so many people attach themselves to these glories thinking they have it all, but God created us for something greater than this world. This world only gives us glimpses into the everlasting wonder of God.

The everlasting glory of God will never fade away. That is the only glory that will truly satisfy us. Everything we gain in this world would leave us wanting more and in the end we eventually will loose even that which we have gained. So why pursue the fading glory when we can pursue God? In Him we will eventually find Paradise and Heaven. Heaven will be that everlasting world dancing with eye pleasing beauty and glory and so much more.

The everlasting glory of God is what we need to cling to. Everything else is just a dried-up pile of leaves drifting in the wind.

In the end, the pleasures of this world are nothing but a shifting pile of leaves blown by the wind.
