Godly Wisdom Bears Good Fruit

Verse of the Day and nature photo of a white and yellow strawberry blossoms, Eastern Nebraska and James 3:17-18.

James 3:17-18 and Strawberry Blossom & Buds, Eastern Nebraska.

“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:17-18

Godly Believers Bear Good Fruit

We grow strawberries in our backyard. Each April we watch the plants begin to turn green and then look forward to seeing petite white and yellow flowers cover the plants a few weeks later.

As beautiful as these little princesses are, they only represent the beginning of something better. A few weeks after the blossoms disappear the plants bear the good fruit of bright red, sweet and tasty strawberries.

Reading God’s word is like a strawberry vine. When we read it and pray for His wisdom that is just the blossom. His Word is meant to be lived out “peaceable, gentle, reasonable” ways. If we read God’s word and don’t live it out we are like a strawberry vine that had plenty of flowers, but bore no strawberries.

Read all of James 3.
