The Story of My Eclipse Photos

The sun in the sky through an eclipse filter.

The sun pre-eclipse

To see the totality of the eclipse was an amazing part of getting my eclipse photos. I do not know how to describe the event with my words. One second I could not look at the sun due to it’s brightness. And then whew! The moon completely blocked the sun and there stood the moon with a halo around it. Because our eyes are far superior than any camera, I could actually see details of the surface of the moon.

The beginning of the eclipse

As I stood in awe of this event I knew my God, my redeemer existed like I never believed it before. God uses this unmatched magnificent event to shout, “Here I am! I am a great and glorious Creator! Follow me. For I am real! I created the sun and the moon and this event so that the world may know Me.”

As I watched I thought of Acts 17:26, 27 where Luke records the words of the Apostle Paul to the people of Athenas. Paul tells the Athenians that God chooses the places where people live and when they live they so that they would desire to seek after God.  No one who saw the eclipse saw it by chance.

Nearing the total eclipse

The Bible tells us that nature reveals His attributes and the skies declare God’s glory. The eclipse is just one of the many ways that God romances us through His creation that we would seek after Him.
